Sr. Account Director

Job Specific Duties Responsibilities

The Senior Account Director leads the Client Services Team & relies on their ability to lead and inspire others inside and outside the agency.  The incumbent of this role leads a client account (or set of accounts) within the advertising agency, ensuring they are profitable and growing. They take responsibility that their team delivers quality creative work that meets the client’s needs and addresses their business problems. Where required the Senior Account Director will be involved with pitches for new business, approaching these with both a creative and commercial mindsets

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leading the Client Services Team & ensuring their team delivers quality results. Providing them the resources and development required to successfully deliver.
  • Leading client accounts within the agency, with overall responsibility for the client-agency relationship
  • Create account strategies, leading projects from conception to final execution
  • Establish goals and objectives for internal teams to follow
  • Working with strategists to develop communications briefs that meet business needs in an effective and accountable way.
  • Supporting the Strategist in writing inspirational creative briefs and going on to direct the strategic development of creative work, presenting and selling this effectively to clients
  • Presenting agency recommended communication plans, creative concepts and media plans to the client 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or relevant, equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years experience in a full service agency including working in the capacity of Senior Account Director or Senior Account Director.
  • Bilingual (Arabic & English) is required.
  • Must have comprehensive accounting, or financial knowledge and expertise
  • Should have a good record of accomplishment
  • Significant experience in professional client relationship management
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiation and meeting client requirements
  • Experience in managing a team
  • A strong account management background, including past experience managing client accounts and supervising account teams
  • Experience identifying superior business building opportunities

Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of budgeting and reporting on progress
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and metrics
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and/or relevant software
  • Deep understanding of effective advertising and digital marketing campaigns
  • Strong business and analytics knowledge: ability to use alternative analytical approaches to solve marketing problems
  • Presenting agency recommended communication plans, creative concepts and media plans to the client
  • Developing project timelines and manage internal teams and resources and clients expectations to keep timelines
  • Identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities with existing and future agency clients.
  • Negotiating contracts and fees with marketing directors and client procurement personnel
  • Leading and inspiring those outside of the core team, including creative teams and those in other agencies working on the same account
  • Reporting key financial and team data to the agency’s senior leadership and finance department.
  • Maintaining a detailed awareness of relevant market trends affecting their accounts, and developments in the wider advertising and communications industry
