Thank you for considering a job opportunity at Sixty Degrees. In order to process your application, you’ll be asked to provide personal data (also referred to as “information” or “data”) to us. Sixty Degrees cares about your privacy, and we will ensure to collect and process your data in line with our privacy obligations. This includes compliance with applicable data protection laws, including Law No. 13 of 2016 on Personal Data Privacy Protection in Qatar.
This Candidate Privacy Notice explains how we collect and process your personal data as an applicant before, during, and after the hiring process. It also describes the rights you have in relation to your personal data.
Who are we?
We are Sixty Degrees, a company committed to helping brands forge strong connections with humans, the data controller is Sixty Degrees, located at Doha, Qatar and further referred to as “Sixty Degrees”, “we”, and / or “us”. Your data may be processed by other entities within the Sixty Degrees group during the recruitment process. For example, your information may be shared with the entity that employs the relevant recruiter(s) for the role. In case of a successful application, you will receive an offer from the relevant entity acting as the data controller under the employment agreement.
When does this Candidate Privacy Notice apply?
This Privacy Notice applies to any personal data which you submit to Sixty Degrees:
(i) through the Careers page on our website sixtydegrees.com as part of an application at any of our global offices;
(ii) via any other application platform that allows you to directly apply to an open position at Sixty Degrees, such as LinkedIn and;
(iii) at any time during the job application process.
This Privacy Notice also covers personal data you may submit as part of a general inquiry related to employment opportunities with Sixty Degrees or which you might provide to any Sixty Degrees entity at a recruiting event. Further, this Privacy Notice applies to personal data collected from third parties in the course of reference and background checks during the application process that are required or allowed under applicable law. This Privacy Notice does not apply to information you submit through any other website or service owned or operated by Sixty Degrees.

Collecting and Using Your Personal Data
1. The personal data we process
When you apply for a job at Sixty Degrees, we collect and process the following categories of personal data:
1.1 Contact information: Your name, email address, current postal address, phone number, city, and country of residence.
1.2 Personal details: Personal data on your CV or resume or other material you submit to us during the recruitment process, such as your gender, date of birth, academic qualifications, work experience, salary and job expectations, information about your work permit or visa status.
1.3 Interview notes: Notes made during the recruitment process about your work experience and work expectations, stored in our application portal and shared with employees involved in the recruitment process.
1.4 Reference and background checks: Depending on your location, and only where required or allowed under applicable law, we collect reference information and information received from background checks, including criminal records (if applicable).
1.5 Information you voluntarily provide: Such as information about your compensation history.
2. The purpose and legal basis of processing
We process the above-mentioned information for the purposes outlined in this section. Under applicable laws, we require a legal basis for the processing of your personal data. For each processing purpose, we will explain the legal basis for our processing.
2.1 Communicate with you: To respond to your general inquiries related to employment opportunities and communicate with you throughout the recruitment process. We process your information for this purpose based on our legitimate interests.
2.2 Update your information: To update and keep your contact information, CV, and/or other information accurate if you provide us with a new or updated version. We process your information for this purpose based on our legitimate interests.
2.3 To determine your qualifications for employment and to make hiring decisions: To assess your qualifications, skills, and suitability for the position you are applying to. We process your information for this purpose based on our legitimate interests.
2.4 Background and reference checks: To verify your information and carry out background and reference checks. We process your information for this purpose based on our legitimate interests or (depending on applicable law) on a legal obligation.
2.5 Initiate a job offer: To prepare your employment agreement if you are offered a job and have accepted the offer. We process your information for this purpose based on the performance of a contract or carrying out pre-contractual steps.
2.6 Provide assistance: To assist you with obtaining an immigration visa or work permit (if requested and necessary). We process your information for this purpose based on our legitimate interests.
2.7 Contact you about other job opportunities: To consider you for and inform you about other job opportunities (with your consent). We process your information for this purpose based on your consent.
2.8 To inform you about recruitment events: Sixty Degrees regularly organizes recruitment events. When you have registered for an event or visited our events in the past, we may send you emails or other types of communication to update you about upcoming recruitment events. The legal basis for this processing activity is our legitimate interest, or (when required) your consent.
2.9 Establish, exercise, or defend against legal claims: In case we deem it necessary to process your data to protect our interests, we may process all relevant information related to your job application to protect our interests. We base these activities on our legitimate interests or a legal obligation.
3. Privacy Protection Procedures
To ensure the protection of personal data, we adhere to the following procedures:
3.1 Reviewing Privacy Measures: We assess our privacy protection measures before initiating new processing operations to ensure they meet required standards.

5. Provision of your personal data during the application process
Personal data is necessary so that we can process your job application, any general inquiries related to employment opportunities, the recruitment process, and the decision about whether to employ you.
Wherever it is necessary for you to provide personal data, we have identified that data by making it a required field. If you do not provide us with the required personal data in connection with your application, we will not be able to consider your application for the open job position or answer your inquiries. Wherever we ask you to provide additional personal data on a voluntary basis in connection with your application, you are, of course, free to decide whether you would like to provide such personal data. Not providing such personal data will have no impact on the recruitment process or our decision about whether we establish an employment relationship with you.
6. How and why, we share your personal data
Sixty Degrees will not sell, lease, or license your personal data to any third party. However, we will share your personal data internally within the Sixty Degrees group to allow the job application and recruitment processes to work. Your data will only be shared with those people in Sixty Degrees who need to view your data in order to do their job. All employees entrusted with data processing are obliged to maintain the confidentiality of your information. Sixty Degrees entities other than Sixty Degrees processing your information may act as data processors (for example, when the recruiter(s) employed by another Sixty Degrees entity process your application), or as separate data controllers (for example, when entering into an employment agreement with you). We base these processing activities on: our legitimate interests; the performance of a contract or carrying out pre-contractual steps.
In addition, we share your information with the following categories of recipients:
i. Third-party service providers: To optimize our recruitment process, we use the services of various third parties, such as pre-employment screening service providers, application portals, interview scheduling software, and recruitment event organizations. These third-party service providers act as data processors. Sixty Degrees will ensure it has properly vetted any third-party service provider and has entered into appropriate data transfer agreements with the relevant service provider.
ii. Government agencies and law enforcement: We may share your personal data when required by law, court orders, legal process, or a discovery request in civil litigation, or if we believe that your actions violate applicable law, or threaten the rights, property, or safety of Sixty Degrees or our employees. We will only disclose information as required or permitted by applicable data protection laws. The legal basis for these transfers can be our legitimate interests or compliance with a legal obligation.
7. Retention periods
Sixty Degrees will only retain your personal data for as long as it is required to achieve the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, and as required under applicable data protection laws.
If your application is successful, Sixty Degrees will transfer your data to the internal HR systems and will store your personal data for the duration of your employment at Sixty Degrees.
If your application is unsuccessful, Sixty Degrees will retain your personal data for a period of 6 months after we have informed you of our decision, to comply with our legal obligations and to protect our interests in case of a legal dispute.
If your personal data is subject to a longer retention period due to a statutory obligation, Sixty Degrees will retain your data for the period required under the applicable statutory obligation.
8. What are your data protection rights?
Sixty Degrees would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user of the Site is entitled to the following:
8.1 The right to access – You have the right to request Sixty Degrees for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.

8.5 The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to Sixty Degrees’ processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
8.6 The right to data portability – You have the right to request that Sixty Degrees transfer the data collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

Our recruitment process and the related services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from candidates under the age of 18.
If you are a parent or guardian and you become aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately. If we discover that we have collected personal data from a candidate under the age of 18 without verifying parental consent, we will take appropriate steps to remove that information from our records.
If we are required to obtain consent from a parent or guardian under applicable laws to process personal data, we may request that consent before proceeding with the collection and use of that information.
